Sikhisme (bahasa Punjabi: ?????) adalah salah satu agama terbesar di dunia. Agama ini berkembang terutamanya pada abad ke-16 dan 17 di India. Kata Sikhisme berasal dari kata Sikh, yang bererti “murid” atau “pelajar”.
Kepercayaan-kepercayaan utama dalam Sikhisme adalah:
- Percaya dalam satu Tuhan yang pantheistik. Kalimat pembuka dalam naskah-naskah Sikh hanya sepanjang dua kata, dan mencerminkan kepercayaan dasar seluruh umat yang taat pada ajaran-ajaran dalam Sikhisme: Ek Onkar (Satu Tuhan).
- Ajaran Sepuluh Guru Sikh (serta para cendekiawan Muslim dan Hindu yang diterima) dapat ditemukan dalam Guru Granth Sahib.
Sikhisme dipengaruhi pergerakan perubahan dalam agama Hindu (misalnya Bhakti, monisme, metafisika Weda, guru ideal, dan bhajan) serta Islam Sufi. Agama ini berangkat dari adat-adat sosial dan struktur dalam agama Hindu dan Islam (contohnya sistem kasta dan purdah). Filsafat dalam Sikhisme bercirikan logika, keseluruhan (bersifat komprehensif), dan pendekatan yang sederhana terhadap masalah-masalah spiritual mahupun material. Teologinya penuh kesederhanaan. Dalam etika Sikh, tidak ada konflik antara tugas peribadi terhadap diri sendiri dengan masyarakat.
Sikhisme berasal dari daerah Punjab di India, namun kini pengikutnya juga dapat ditemukan di berbagai penjuru dunia yang mempunyai komunitas India. Di Asia Tenggara, umat Sikh banyak ditemukan di Malaysia dan Singapura. Kaum Sikh dapat dikenali melalui namanya yang kebanyakan diakhiri Singh untuk lelaki dan Kaur untuk wanita.

Guru Granth Sahib adalah teks suci yang dianggap oleh para pengikut Sikhisme sebagai Guru kesebelas mereka.

Ramai yang tak tahu asal-usul agama Sikh kat Malaysia nie,so aku ada kumpulkan beberapa fakta mengenainya.
Sri Guru Granth Sahib (bahasa Punjabi: ???? ????? ?????, gur? granth s?hib), atau Guru Granth Sahib, adalah Guru para pemeluk agama Sikh.
Guru Gobind Singh (1666-1708), Guru kesepuluh dalam tradisi Sikh, mengukuhkan teks suci Guru Granth sebagai penggantinya, dan dengan demikian mengakhiri garis sukses para Guru yang manusiawi, dan meninggikan teks kitab itu menjadi Guru Granth Sahib. Sejak saat itu, teks ini tidak hanya tetap menjadi kitab suci para pemeluk sikh, tetapi juga dianggap oleh mereka sebagai perwujudan yang hidup dari ke-Sepuluh Guru.Guru Granth Sahib, sebagai sumber atau pedoman dalam doa, menduduki tempat yang sentral dalam Sikhisme.
Guru Granth pertama kali dikompilasikan oleh Guru Sikh kelima, Guru Arjan Dev (1563-1606), dari nyanyian-nyanyian suci dari kelima Guru Sikh pertama dan para orang suci lainnya dari tradisi-tradisi Hindu dan Islam.Penulis asli dari Adi Granth ini adalah Bhai Gurdas dan belakangan Bhai Mani Singh. Setelah Guru Sikh kesepuluh meninggal dunia, banyak salinan tulisan tangan disiapkan untuk disebarkan oleh Baba Deep Singh.
‘Guru Granth Sahib’ adalah sebuah kitab yang tebal, dengan 1430 halaman, yang dikompilasikan dan disusun pada masa Guru-guru Sikh, dari 1469 hingga 1708.Kitab ini dikompilasikan dalam bentuk nyanyian-nyanyian suci yang memuji Tuhan dan yang menggambarkan seperti apa Tuhan itu dan cara hidup yang benar. Kitab ini ditulis dengan huruf Gurmukhi, dan terutama dalam bahasa Punjabi kuno tetapi juga menggunakan garis-garis yang digunakan untuk bahasa-bahasa lain, termasuk bahasa Braj, Punjabi, Khariboli (Hindi), Sansekerta, dialek-dialek regional, dan bahasa Persia.
Makna dan peranan dalam Sikhisme
Kaum Sikh menganggap Guru Granth Sahib sebagai otoritas tertinggi di dalam komuniti mereka. Kitab ini memainkan peranan sentral dalam kehidupan devosi dan ritual Sikh. Tempat Guru Granth Sahib dalam kehidupan devosi Sikh didasarkan pada dua prinsip atau keyakinan dasar. Yang pertama ialah bahwa teks di dalam Adi Granth adalah wahyu suci, sehingga tidak boleh diubah-ubah, dan kedua, bahwa semua jawapan mengenai agama dan moral dapat ditemukan di dalam teks tersebut. Nyanyian-nyanyian dan ajaran-ajaran yang terkandung di dalam kitab suci Sikh disebut Gurbani atau “Firman Sang Guru” dan kadang-kadang Dhurbani atau “Fiman tuhan”. Dengan demikian, dalam teologi Sikh, firman ilahi yang diungkapkan adalah Sang Guru ini (Guru Granth Sahib).Karena kitab suci ini memperoleh otoritasnya dari para Guru Sikh, ia pun disebut Guru Granth, ertinya “Kitab Guru”.
Karya sejumlah orang suci yang menyumbang bagi tersusunnya Guru Granth Sahib secara kolektif dirujuk sebagai Bhagat Bani atau “Firman Umat”. Para orang suci ini tergolong pada latar belakang sosial dan keagamaan yang berbeda-beda, termasuk Hindu dan Muslim, tukang sepatu dan bahkan mereka yang haram disentuh. Meskipun para Bhagat Sikh ini tidak memperoleh status Guru dalam Sikhisme, karya-karya mereka sama-sama dihormati dengan karya para Guru Sikh dan tidak ada perbedaan yan dibuat antara karya seorang Bhagat Sikh dengan seorang Guru Sikh. Inti sari doktrin ini ialah bahwa Guru Granth Sahib, yang mengandung ajaran lengkap dari para Guru Sikh, adalah pengganti satu-satunya dan terakhir dalam garis suksesi para Guru. Siapapun yang mengklaim status sebagai Guru yang hidup dianggap sebagai penyesat.
Sejarah
Pekerjaan menuliskan ajaran-ajaran Guru Nanak, Guru pertama dan pendiri Sikhisme, dimulai pada masa hidupnya.Ketika Guru Angad menjadi Guru kedua umat Sikh, Guru Nanak memberikan kepadanya kumpulan nyanyian dan pengajarannya dalam bentuk sebuah “pothi” (naskah). Guru Angad menambahkan 63 dari komposisinya sendiri dan berikutnya menurunkan naskah yang telah diperluas itu kepada Guru yang ketiga, Amar Das. Guru Amar Das menyiapkan sejumlah naskah, yang ditambahkannya dengan 974 komposisinya sendiri, serta karya-karya berbagai Bhagat. Naskah-naskah ini, yang dikenal sebagai Goindwal pothis, menyebutkan pesan Guru Amar Das tentang mengapa Bhagat Bani diikutsertakan dan bagaimana para Bhagat itu dipengaruhi oleh Guru Nanak.Guru keempat juga menyusun nyanyian-nyanyian dan menyimpannya dalam sebuah pothi.
Guru kelima, Arjan Dev, dengan maksud mengkonsolidasikan Bani (firman Ilahi) dari para Guru sebelumnya dan untuk mencegah masuknya komposisi-komposisi yang palsu ke dalam teks yang asliya, memutuskan untuk mengkompilasikan Adi Granth.Naskah kuno Sikh Tawarikh Guru Khalsa menyebutkan bahwa Guru Arjan Dev mengeluarkan sebuah Hukamnamah (perintah resmi), yang isinya meminta sumbangan dari siapapun yang dapat membuatnya. Semua sumber dan isi Bani ditinjau kembali, baik yang berasal dari para Guru sebelumnya maupun dari para bhagat. Penelitian Guru Arjan Dev atas teks-teks itu berusaha untuk mengatur dan mengukuhkan otentisias dari wahyu yang ada. Guru Arjan memulai pekerjaan menyusun Adi Granth sejak 1599.

One of the most important things you can do, if not the most important, is optimizing your page titles. Search engines need to know what your post is about, so if you are writing about the “New Cool Gadget From CompanyX” then you should give your post a title such as ” Reviewing The New CompanyX Cool Gadget”. Try and avoid time specific page title’s as people will not click throgh as frequently from a search engine result page if they feel that your post is out of date.To change your title you need to go to your Admin panel, then Presentation > Theme Editor and pick your current theme. Now select Header from the list of pages at the side. Using keywords in your post title is important, but you also need to use keywords throughout your post. For eaxamle, while you may be posting about ‘blue widgets’ why not talk about ‘red widgets’ and ‘green widgets’? - Permalink Structure *
Firstly, my advice is that you setup your blog in the root directory because search spiders can be slow to spider content located several directories deep. A lot of bloggers will arrange their permalink structure by date to look something link http://www.myblog.com/11/07/2006/postname.php. I would strongly advise that you change your permalink structure to something much more simple like http://www.myblog.com/category/post-title.php or just http://www.myblog.com/postname.php.To change your permalink structure you need to quickly login to your Wordpress admin panel, then go to Options > Permalinks. Choose custom. To create a permalink structure like http://www.myblog.com/category/postname.php you need to enter the following code:/%category%/%postname%/
- Header Tags
The header tags are used when assigning a title, typically within a post. These title tags are have a numerical value associated with them that also indicates their importance, ie. < h1 > is used for your most important header, < h2 > would be used for a sub title etc. Place the same keywords as used in your post title in the < h1 > tag then use variations of your keywords in < h2 > / < h3 tags for optimum effect. - Related Posts **
When a person visits your blog you want then to stay for as long as you can. One of the best ways to keep visitors interested is to show them other content on your blog that may be related to the post they are currently reading. The easiest way to do this is with the ‘Related Posts‘ plugin. Upload using your FTP client into the wp-content > plugins folder, then login to your Wordpress admin panel and activate the plugin from the ‘Plugins’ page. - Use Sitemaps **
To get the most traffic from search engines like Google it is best to get as many of your pages indexed as possible. Make it easier by installing the Google Sitemaps plugin. Upload into wp-content > plugins via FTP and then activate from the Plugins page. This will then create an XML file that Googlebot can spider and then find all your content. You’ll need a Sitemaps account though where you can register your new Sitemap. - Keep It Fresh
Search engines love fresh content. So when you are posting regularly you will find that Googlebot / Slurp / MSNbot will come round more often to spider your fresh content. One tip I would suggest is to use the timed post feature to release posts that you have prepared for the future. This comes in particularly handy when you are off on holiday somewhere without any internet access. To set a date and time for a release date, click on ‘Post Timestamp’ and select your date and time. - Make It Unique
Keep your content unique, otherwise you are running the risk of penalisation for duplicate content. Although it can be tempting to just copy and paste someone elses content or use a syndicated article, you will not benefit from it. - Build Backlinks
To get more traffic you need backlinks. Ideally other blogs will like what you write and link to you, but if you are just starting out and need a little exposure then submit your blog to one of the many blog directories. Other ways to get backlinks is via commenting on other blogs and using trackbacks. - Go Social! **
Take advantage of social sites like Digg, Del.icio.us, Bebo and Myspace. One of the best ways to get your content out there and exposed is to install the ‘Sociable‘ plugin. All you need to do is upload into wp-content > plugins then activate from the Plugins page. Each post will now have a link to submit it to one of many social websites. I find that if a story gets picked up on one of these sites it can go viral … so install Sociable ASAP!
Optimizing Wordpress is quite simple, which is part of the reason why I enjoy using it so much. If you stick at it and keep going you will eventually build up traffic and reputation. 
* If you are editing pages using the Wordpress admin you will need to change permissions for the file. To do this, navigate to the file (probably in wp-content > themes). In Transmit for OS X, select the file and hit Command-I. For windows, right click the file and select Properties. Then change permissions to 666.
** If you are trying to install a plugin that you have downloaded, please follow the instructions for them. Most require nothing more than uploading a file or folder into wp-content > plugins, then activation from the Plugins page.

Wordpress : Socio Fluid Setup
So far we’ve talked about the advantages, found, installed, and activated the best social bookmarking plugin for Wordpress 2.8. Now we have to set it up so that it works the way we want it to.
I almost got lost on this myself. It took me about 20 minutes to figure it all out. But if you follow the instructions I lay out below then you’ll save yourself some time and energy.
Step 1
Remember how we talked about the left sidebar in the admin area of Wordpress in the last post. We’re going to look in that same area and search for the heading called Settings. It should be near the bottom. It’s below Appearance, Plugins, Users and Tools. When you click into Settings you will see a link for Socio Fluid. Click it.
Step 2
The ‘Grow Up’ button.here are 3 boxes at the very top of the page. The first one and the third one should be checked. Directly below that will be two drop down boxes with numbers for the size of the icons. The small icon should be set to 32 and the large icon should be set to 48. Below that there will be options for the mouseover size adjustments. You want to make sure that the icons grow as your visitor hovers their mouse over each icon. So make sure you select t
Step 3
Select which social bookmarking icons you want to appear on your posts. Try to keep it at less than 10. You’ll notice that there are 9 icons at the bottom of this post. If you do more than 10 it begins to look cluttered and can confuse your visitors. And we all know what happens when people get confused: They shut down. In this case you run the risk of your content not being shared. And that’s just not something you should be willing to risk.
Wordpress : Socio Fluid Installation
Okay, so we talked about the advantages of SocioFluid. And you’re probably ready to get started. If your’e using Wordpress 2.8 the installation will be a snap. If you’re not using WP 2.8 I suggest you upgrade immediately.
One of the great new features of WP 2.8 is that you can simply add, install, and activate plugins all from the admin area. As I type this post I’m looking at the left sidebar and I can see the following headings from top to bottom: Posts, Media, Links, Pages, Comments, Appearance, Plugins. Stop right there. That’s where you want to be. Plugins.
There’s a little arrow to the right. If you click it you will see: Installed, Add New. Stop right there. That’s where you want to be. Add New.
When you click Add New you will see a small drop down box to your left and a search box to your right. The dropdown box will have the following options: Term, Author, and Tag. Make sure to leave it at Term. That’s the default setting. To the right of that is where you type “SocioFluid”. And directly next to that will be a button that says ‘Search Plugins’
Hint: If you put a space between Socio and Fluid you won’t get any results
After you type the term and hit Enter you will see the plugin. To the far right you will see the word ‘Install’ in tiny blue letters. Click it.
A popup will appear and there will be an orange button to the top right of that box that says ‘Install Now’. Click that.
Once you click the orange button you have just installed the plugin. After it’s installed, Wordpress will ask you if you want to activate it or return to the plugins page. Click, ‘Yes I Want To Activate’.
Congratulations, you have just found, installed, and activated the best social bookmarking plugin for Wordpress 2.8.
There’s one last step. Setting up the new plugin so that it works properly for you.
Wordpress : Say Hello To Socio Fluid
If you’ve been blogging for a while or even if you haven’t you probably understand the impact of social networking sites. There’s a great way to allow your blog to be bookmarked into these sites by your visitors. I’m a Wordpress junkie. It’s the only blogging platform that I use. Sure, there are others. But Google likes this one best and it’s really easy to use once you get the hang of it. So how do you get your visitors to socially bookmark your posts? I’m glad you asked.
In Wordpress 2.8 there are many different plugins that will allow you to do this. One of the most common ones is Sociable. This plugin allows you to connect your blog to about 100 different social bookmarking sites. The problem with that is most of them are just not that popular. I’m sure you want to stick to the sites that will get you the most traffic. Here’s a few of them:
Another thing I don’t like about Sociable is that the buttons at the bottom of the posts are just too small. They might as well be invisible. And depending on your theme, they may even look like they’re stuck together.
